Facilities Electrical Engineer (Multiple Levels)

About the role

This role involves leading multidisciplinary facility electrical projects, including assessment, design, coordination, and implementation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing project scope, monitoring progress, resolving operational issues, and ensuring timely completion of projects related to infrastructure, capacity, and safety standards.
• Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on systems such as PLCs, variable speed drives, motors, and electrical utilities, collaborating with contractors to meet specifications, codes, and performance expectations.
• Analyzing current operations, recommending maintenance improvements, and supporting long-term planning for facility systems and infrastructure.
• Managing utility infrastructure reliability and capacity, planning outages, evaluating new technologies, and promoting system innovation.
• Coordinating technical projects with internal teams and external partners, overseeing design, procurement, construction, and installation activities.
• Maintaining budgets for capital investments and operational expenses, and managing contracted services to ensure compliance with standards and contractual obligations.
• Developing and executing preventative maintenance programs, utilizing technical expertise to support facility operations, troubleshooting, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 1+ years of experience
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems
• Project management skills
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as NEC, NFPA, OSHA
