About the Role

The Facilities / EHS Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, efficient, and well-functioning workplace. This role combines day-to-day facilities coordination with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) responsibilities, as well as preventive maintenance and reliability of machinery and equipment.

  • Coordinate building maintenance, repairs, and daily facility operations.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, landlords, and service providers.
  • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance for facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor and resolve facility issues involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, and general maintenance.
  • Maintain facility records, permits, inspections, and service documentation.
  • Track facility-related expenses, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of maintenance, safety, and emergency supplies.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate inspections, servicing, repairs, and calibration activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and arrange timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain maintenance records and track equipment performance.
  • Clock outside service providers for specialized repairs and inspections.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, relocations, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.
  • Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Support EHS programs, policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses, and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety records, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate employee safety training and communications.
  • Support emergency preparedness programs and safety equipment inspections.
  • Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories.
  • Promote a strong workplace safety culture.
  • Aid in internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Track maintenance, safety, training, and compliance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, HR, and other departments on facility and safety initiatives.

    • Partner with operations, engineering, HR, and other departments on facility and safety initiatives.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to routinely walk through and inspect facility, warehouse, laboratory, manufacturing, and/or office areas.
  • Ability to work around machinery, tools, electrical systems, chemicals, noise, temperature variations, and construction/maintenance activities, as applicable.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move safety, maintenance, and facility supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to safely perform or oversee hands-on maintenance activities within the requirements of applicable safety procedures.
  • May require occasional work outside normal business hours in response to facility or equipment emergencies.
