About the Role

We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator to report to the Technical Manager at our Temple location. This position will oversee all facilities equipment and support all areas of the plant. The ideal candidate is technically oriented, a strong environmental steward, and works well with people at all levels in the organization. A minimum of 5 years of plant or facilities maintenance experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facilities strategic and forward-thinking initiatives to contribute to overall plant performance.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Provide direction for hourly employees as needed.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Actively listen and provide feedback to others.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in ensuring safety protocols are followed across the plant.
  • Promote teamwork among crew and peers.
  • Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Support policies and contract initiatives such as preventative maintenance, landscaping, and roofing maintenance.
  • Manage fire systems and support annual inspections and repairs.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement related to facilities initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with managing a multi-million dollar budget.
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to identify cost-saving reductions and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure engineering principles such as DFR (Design for Reliability) and PSSR (Pre-Start Up Safety Review) are followed for new projects.
  • Perform periodic reviews of preventative maintenance programs and service agreements for plant infrastructure and production equipment.
  • Submit and coordinate Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and capital activities as needed.
  • Assist with administrative, training, and other tasks for the production maintenance and technical team.

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering preferred, with 2+ years of applicable experience in an engineering field with demonstrated project and process management skills, OR 5+ years of equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in the packaging industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing budgets is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with SAP and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure equipment is desired.
  • Familiarity working within a manufacturing environment and with process equipment is also desired.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish priorities using effective project management techniques.
