Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in facilities systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions of shop systems such as compressors/air lines, garage doors and openers, and exhaust fans.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks such as installing, repairing, or maintaining doors, windows, walls, furniture, and fixtures to ensure facility functionality and safety.
- Oversee lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, planting, and general landscaping to keep the grounds well-maintained and presentable.
- Safely operate snow removal equipment to clear walkways, parking lots, and access points during winter months. Apply salt or other de-icing materials as needed to prevent accidents.
- Ensure that all facility systems, repairs, landscaping, and snow removal work comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform regular checks on facility cleanliness and structural integrity. Address issues such as damaged walls, faulty doors, lighting fixtures, etc.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as power outages, leaks, snow accumulation, or system failures. Take corrective action to mitigate damage and restore functionality.
- Aid in coordinating off-site vendor repair and maintenance. Document work performed and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training in facilities management, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance or a similar field.
- Lawn, landscaping, snow removal experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and maintenance logs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve physical labor such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
