Responsibilities
- Design, install, and document all PA controls systems and processes.
- Work with project, engineering, and operations teams on modifying and expanding these systems.
- Serve as a technical expert in a specialty area and train off-hour support personnel for first-level response.
- Lead mechanical and electrical trades resources on repairs, renovations, and maintenance of PA systems.
- Plan, schedule, and direct trades resources using a computerized work order system.
- Support and maintain required regulatory and Corning safety and environmental requirements.
- Cover activities to design-in safety measures such as FMEA, HAZOP, JSA, LOTO, etc.
- Create and update documents like machine specifications, drawings, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provide periodic off-hours on-call support.
- Cover activities to coordinate with outside vendors to maintain system integrity.
Requirements
- Required Education: Associate degree in a technical discipline OR a High School Diploma with 8+ years in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Required Skills: Mechanical aptitude, strong technical curiosity, strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, strong safety awareness, PC proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), good written and communication skills, willingness and ability to learn new skills and knowledge.
