About the role
Perform a variety of production-related manufacturing functions at our Cincinnati Aviation Component Service Center, which develops and conducts engine component repairs for 29 different engine models. Responsibilities include:
- Opening shop orders and issuing repair routers to ensure work scope complies with customer requirements.
- Maintaining primary responsibility for dispatching, tracking, and production control activities for product lines or special projects.
- Performing initial hardware evaluations to determine obvious scrap.
- Using electronic tracking systems to maintain a continuous flow of regular and development hardware through workstations to meet scheduled commitments.
- Attending and participating in line of balance meetings.
- Ensuring correct material paperwork and parts are available for processing.
- Coordinating with vendors, purchasing, and traffic to dispatch work externally while maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Providing lab samples for requisite processes and integrating changes into the production control system.
- Performing packing, shipping, receiving, and related duties, including maintaining logs, records, and shipping documents.
- Translating inventories into priority lists, furnace schedules, chem room schedules, forecasts, and line-of-balance (L.O.B.) documents.
- Instructing and training others as necessary and maintaining production boards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum 1 year of experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with basic computer applications and keyboarding (e.g., email, Microsoft Excel).
- Minimum 1 year of experience self-directing daily work orders with minimal supervision.
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to high-risk or hazardous operations and potential shift work beyond a standard workweek.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally; assistance provided for heavier items.
- Ability to physically handle, pack, and maneuver weight as designated by OSHA standards on a sustained basis.
- Capability to operate material handling and lifting devices, including obtaining a forklift license if required.
- Strong analytical aptitude with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must provide proof of a valid Driver’s License for roles requiring use of company vehicles and complete a DOT Physical if applicable.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment while wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eye protection, safety shoes) for extended periods.
- Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires proof of U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with export processes and commercial invoices.
- Knowledge of creating shop orders, preferably in OSB (Order Status Board).
- Willingness to work with chemical materials.
- Experience with systems such as OSB, MRO, SFC System, Router Gen System, Manifest System, and Maximo.
- Experience ordering and maintaining supplies of direct and/or indirect materials.
- Previous experience in inventory, scheduling, or related fields.
- Proficiency in shop math, including fractions and decimals.
- 1 year of experience packing and shipping hardware, including preparing items for shipment (labeling, documentation, packaging).
- 1 year of experience in inventory control, material procurement, sourcing, materials forecasting, and cost analysis, partnering cross-functionally to ensure on-time material availability.
Pay
$32.75 per hour plus a 10% differential for 2nd or 3rd shift.
