Responsibilities
- Assemble, form, finish, inspect, rework, and repair assembly components and parts per customer specifications.
- Operate and maintain machine tools, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, vacuum, and electrical systems.
- Identify and evaluate patterns; determine methods for material removal to meet customer specifications.
- Prepare parts for processing by painting, patching, and removing maskant for etch using exacto knives and scales.
- Perform sandblasting, deburring, and grinding to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Mask parts as required, including applying tape to holes and stripping boards.
- Load parts into heating devices and monitor processes.
- Maintain records for periodic maintenance and order spare/replacement parts.
- Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with company, customer, and government regulations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a business culture supporting cost, quality, process, schedule, and people objectives.
- Support the company’s commitment to safety and environmental protection through adherence to policies and regulations.
- Comply with GKN Aerospace’s Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Certification to operate a forklift.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English to understand safety procedures, policies, and work instructions.
- Reliable and satisfactory attendance is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience at GKN Aerospace.
- Experience working with hazardous materials and/or chemicals.
- Ability to work as a team player and independently.
- Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting safety, quality, and technical issues.
- Willingness to work in a repetitive production environment while meeting cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
Pay
The compensation range for this position is between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour.
