About the role
We are seeking a Fab Shop Project Manager to play a key role within a fabrication shop environment that manufactures and assembles equipment in accordance with Ovivo designs, customer requirements, ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, and ESG objectives. This role partners closely with fabrication, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
Onsite in Chandler, AZ. Travel required up to 20% to vendors, suppliers, and client facilities.
Responsibilities
- Review and prepare project data including fabrication schedules, procurement plans, and shop labor loading plans.
- Coordinate with internal departments to meet scheduled task deadlines, maintain fabrication schedules, and support equipment inspections.
- Assist in optimizing fab shop floor layouts and material handling processes to improve efficiency and safety.
- Source materials and coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to correct or improve drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Evaluate and propose improvements to manufacturing and assembly processes, including environmentally friendly methods, for management approval.
- Review drawings and models with the fab shop team to ensure manufacturability, fit, and function.
- Provide technical support and solutions related to manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Track and report allocated fabrication hours against project budgets.
- Partner with QA/QC to address equipment that does not meet quality standards and prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Communicate fabrication schedules and proactively escalate issues or potential risks.
- Schedule and lead fab shop meetings focused on schedules, design changes, and resource needs.
- Advise upper management on fabrication status while adhering to safety procedures and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university, plus a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven record of solving problems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in non-standard situations.
- Ability to interpret design drawings and project specifications.

- Experience supporting change management initiatives.
- Strong communication and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience with cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and pricing analysis.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint; ERP/CRM experience is a plus.
- Ability to interpret customer RFQs and tender documents.
Pay
Annual compensation range: $90,000–$130,000. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, and geography.
