Fabrication Senior Manager - Sheet Metal 2nd Shift
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities
- Develop strategies and lead the implementation to achieve improvement in on-time delivery, cost, safety, quality, and productivity
- Implement continuous improvement strategies
- Set future staffing needs and development of the team
- Conduct performance reviews on subordinates
- Partner with various support functions on any new or changing statements of work
- Communicate with internal customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Finishing/Processing, Assembly, or Machining
- 5+ years of experience managing/supervising a team of 100 or more employees
- 5+ years leadership/management experience (industry or military)
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior management level experience reporting to Senior Leadership on department production status
- Prior budgetary responsibility or review experience for associated department P&L
- Experience reviewing, delivering, or monitoring production metrics
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
- Leading teams and driving root cause corrective actions (RCCA)
- Ability to coach and develop team
- Prior experience working with and leading multiple cross-functional groups (Quality, Assembly, Procurement, Supply Chain, Machining, etc.)
Qualifications
- MBA (preferred)
- 10 years of experience in a leadership role (preferred)
- 10 years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Chemical Finishing/Processing, Assembly, or Machining (preferred)
- Prior SAP experience (preferred)
- Understanding of a manufacturing production atmosphere (preferred)
- Versatile manufacturing and machining experience (preferred)
- Understanding of supervising Union employees (preferred)
- Experience with aircraft maintenance or machining (preferred)
- Experience working in a 24/7 operations environment (preferred)

Pay
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $106,300 - $163,000
Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
