ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the following routine operations and daily maintenance under close supervision.
- Reports on all unsafe conditions and hazards immediately.
- Affords assistance in material handling with pallet jacks, carts and other equipment.
- Checks in-coming and out-going material for quality and quantity.
- Prepares necessary documentation as required and reports to the department lead.
- Stacks completed work on skids and moves to designated area, as required.
- Maintains a healthy and safe environment by keeping the work area clean, materials positioned correctly and following safe operating procedures at all times.
- Performs daily pre-use inspection checklist for equipment.
- Operates various types of equipment including mechanical shears, brake presses, punch presses, notching machines, turret presses and spotwelders.
- Reports any problems with machinery to the supervisor or lead person immediately.
- Able to follow Rules of Engagement within Flow Principles.
- Able to identify waste areas of production and works actively to minimize.
- Able to read and understand daily production schedule.
- Performs duties of all lower grades.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimize defects by identifying quality issues using the 4-grade quality system and stopping to ask questions before proceeding for any category 1, 2, or 3 parts.
- Able to use calipers and gauges to verify parts matching print.
QUALIFICATIONS
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must have the basic principles of self-balancing flow manufacturing and cross-train on all functions needed for assigned work cells.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one-year related experience and/or training in assembly work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good knowledge of shop and safety practices is essential.
- Self-Balancing Flow manufacturing or cellular manufacturing knowledge/experience is an asset.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Employee must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos as well as be able to write simple correspondence.
- He/she must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS
- Employee must have basic math skills and be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to measure length and read a caliper.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions as well as have the ability to deal with problems involving a few routine elements in standardized situations.
- Must be able to follow oral instructions.
- Must be able to keep to a schedule and carefully carry out instructions.
- Employee must organize their own work and keep the area clean and organized at all times.
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While Performing The Duties Of This Job, The Employee Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
