Fabrication Operator

About the role

To work within a team of individuals to produce outdoor living products to meet VEKA standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product and service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Consult with lead person/supervision on daily objectives and how to meet them.
• Safely and confidently operate all equipment components associated with the fabrication department.
• Properly identify profiles for window, door, fence, and deck and accurately measure processed parts using a tape measure.
• Use required hand tools safely.
• Be flexible and able to move from one line to another to perform assigned tasks.
• Assist in the cleaning, packaging, and final assembly of finished goods.
• Practice safety guidelines for all equipment components and hand tools.
• Inform lead person/supervision of any quality issues.
• Maintain cleanliness of work station and shop area.
• Responsible for the proper set-up and start-up of production in an efficient manner.
• Responsible for properly preparing the QA samples on time, every time.
• Responsible for overall housekeeping of the assigned area while on shift and assist the Lead Tech and/or Supervisor as needed throughout the shift.
• Assist Material Handler in banding and sealing racks when needed.
• Able to run various equipment in the FAB Shop, including Automated Saws, Welders, punches, and other fabrication machinery to perform job tasks.
• Perform all packer duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School Education.
• Previous Window and Door Fabrication experience.
• Obtain and maintain a fork truck operator’s license.
