About the role
Ferguson is seeking a Fabrication Manager to provide operational oversight for our Fabrication facility within our La Porte, TX pipe yard. This role plays a crucial role in coordinating with welders on projects, monitoring welding operations, and ensuring the safety of all workers. Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight for our Mechanical Fabrications shop within our Brookshire pipe yard.
- Manage all weld procedures and certifications for manual and semi-automatic SAW, GMAW, SMAW, & GTAW welding procedures.
- Collaborate with Business Groups to implement strategy and increase sales in the defined area, including house accounts.
- Implement and manage STRATUS workflow software.
- Project scheduling for all projects, including LEAN Pull Plan Scheduling.
- Ensure all associates align with corporate safety programs and that safety training is complete and up to date.
- Complete all workplace accident investigations as required by the company's EH&S policy.
- Identify safety issues and hazards and notify the corporate safety officer of conditions requiring corrective action.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Mentor associates, promote career development, boost morale, and foster Ferguson's outstanding culture.
- Balance performance standards with cultural intangibles that make the company great.
- Ensure locations in the designated area deliver world-class customer service with every transaction.
Requirements
- 10+ years of proven experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SWAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding).
- Solid understanding of welding codes: AWS, ASME, MIL-STD, AISC, & ABS.
- Expertise in welding power sources, wire feeders, and welding consumables.
- Knowledge of welding techniques including oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, and TIG or equivalent experience, tools, and equipment.
- Hands-on experience and confirmed training on pre- and post-heating, surface hardening, and weld inspections.
- Detailed knowledge of welding processes.
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
- Proficient in operating computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Strong communication skills; ability to develop and articulate (written and verbal) data/process analysis and alternative solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).

Pay
Pay Range: $4,124.70 - $9,075.00 monthly for salaried roles. This role is bonus or incentive plan eligible. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
