Fabrication Machinist
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain machining equipment to fabricate high-quality metal parts and components according to specified blueprints and technical drawings
- Set up machines including CNC and manual machinists tools to perform tasks such as drilling, cutting, and shaping metal materials
- Inspect finished parts for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer specifications
- Collaborate closely with the fabrication team and engineering to optimize processes and resolve machining issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines
- Absorb and document production activities, reporting progress, issues, and recommendations to supervisors
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fabrication Machinist or similar role in the oil and energy industry or heavy industrial fabrication
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong knowledge of CNC machinery operation, programming, and manual machining techniques
- Adequate proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Physical Demands
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (8-12+ hour shifts)
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for prolonged periods
- Reach overhead and work with arms extended
- Climb ladders, work in manlifts up to 25 feet above ground
- Work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when required
Schedule Requirements
- Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, or swing shifts as needed to meet project deadlines
