About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Fabrication (FAB) Technician to join our production team. This role involves assembling and preparing panels according to job specifications while ensuring quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Review job prints for special instructions and update clock-in number accordingly.
- Inspect tools for accuracy and proper functionality, testing on scrap material if necessary.
- Measure panels to ensure they meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform a visual inspection of panels for dents, scratches, or defects before starting fabrication.
- Verify panel grain direction, if applicable.
- Confirm the correct type and color of screws by referencing the job sketch.
- Retrieve necessary extrusions for the fabrication process.
- Install corner clips and apply caulking if required.
- Install extrusions and caulk stiffeners as needed.
- Conduct a final review to ensure all components match the job sketch.
- Set completed panels aside for Quality Control (QC) inspection and labeling.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in fabrication, assembly, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret job prints and technical sketches.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and techniques.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capability to lift and move materials as required.
- Dexterity to handle tools and components safely and effectively.
