Fabric Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Handle all drapes that are to be quality checked
• Hang drapes on inspection racks and clamp with pneumatic clamps
• Check for flaws, pattern match, grease, or other defects in material
• Check work tickets for special instructions
• Inspect bottom and side hems for fullness and correct sewing
• Use judgment and make decisions when necessary
• Create repair work tickets to send repairs back to each area
• Check widths, length, and returns before folding
• Remove all staples from side hems and verify correct sewing
• Remove pins from bottom hems when required
• Measure each side and at seams for correct length
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school graduate
• Able to use and read a tape measure
• General knowledge of fabric
• Ability to use production equipment and hand tools
• Successfully pass a color blind test
• Accuracy with names, numbers, and spelling
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time
• Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
• Strong attention to detail
• Follow written and verbal instructions

Pay

Hourly base salary range: $13 per hour
