FAAS-Commodities-Manager
About the role
The commodities markets team at EY is a national competency within our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice and is rapidly expanding. This role offers the opportunity to communicate creative, strategic goals both internally and externally, focusing on complex governance, technology, and technical implementation issues.
Responsibilities
- Consulting with clients on complex commodities risk, asset, and derivative valuations
- Collaborating with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy around commodity markets, balancing risk and client expectations
- Ensuring the Engagement team thoroughly understands clients' unique needs, ambitions, and expectations
- Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless integrated service
- Managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve our products and processes
- Traveling regularly to meet with key clients, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, finance, information technology, accounting, or a related field and 5-8 years of work experience
- US CPA licensure in your work state
- Direct experience with commodity procurement, trading, or valuation processes from an operational perspective, with a focus on middle- and back-office operations
- Strong working knowledge of commodity markets, instruments, and regulatory pronouncements
- A basic understanding of financial modeling for commodity transactions
- A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring, and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
- The confidence to provide expertise in deal structuring, valuation, and market drivers in the energy markets
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
- Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites

Pay
The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $112,700 to $206,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $135,200 to $234,800. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
Schedule
We expect most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your well-being.
