FAA-certified Part-145 Repair Station specializing in avionics and instrument component MRO for commercial, business, and military aircraft.
About the role
Full-time bench technician position in our climate-controlled, ESD-safe shop located in San Antonio, TX. Work alongside a small, experienced team to troubleshoot, repair, and return-to-service a wide variety of avionics units—from legacy analog instruments to modern glass-cockpit LRUs.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspections, functional tests, and fault isolations on customer-returned avionics components.
- Execute repairs, alignments, and software loads per OEM manuals and FAA-approved data.
- Complete all required documentation (travelers, 8130-3 tags, calibration records) in compliance with FAA and ISO 9001 standards.
- Operate and maintain test equipment (IFR 4000/6000, ATE, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
- Assist in developing and refining internal repair procedures for new part numbers.
- Support occasional weekend on-call rotation for AOG situations (compensated).
Requirements
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate or FCC GROL license.
- Minimum 3 years hands-on bench experience repairing avionics or electronic components in a Part-145 environment.
- Proficiency reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with common avionics test sets and basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Skills
- Experience with Garmin, Honeywell, Rockwell-Collins, Bendix-King, and/or L3Harris product lines.
- Knowledge of ARINC 429, RS-232/422/485, and discrete I/O protocols.
- Basic soldering and rework skills (IPC-J-STD-001 a plus).
- Computer literacy: Windows, Excel, and proprietary OEM software.

Pay
$28–$42/hour commensurate with experience and certifications; overtime paid at 1.5× rate.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
