FAA-certified Part-145 Repair Station specializing in avionics and instrument component MRO for commercial, business, and military aircraft.

About the role

Full-time bench technician position in our climate-controlled, ESD-safe shop located in San Antonio, TX. Work alongside a small, experienced team to troubleshoot, repair, and return-to-service a wide variety of avionics units—from legacy analog instruments to modern glass-cockpit LRUs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspections, functional tests, and fault isolations on customer-returned avionics components.
  • Execute repairs, alignments, and software loads per OEM manuals and FAA-approved data.
  • Complete all required documentation (travelers, 8130-3 tags, calibration records) in compliance with FAA and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment (IFR 4000/6000, ATE, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
  • Assist in developing and refining internal repair procedures for new part numbers.
  • Support occasional weekend on-call rotation for AOG situations (compensated).

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate or FCC GROL license.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on bench experience repairing avionics or electronic components in a Part-145 environment.
  • Proficiency reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM maintenance manuals.
  • Familiarity with common avionics test sets and basic hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Skills

  • Experience with Garmin, Honeywell, Rockwell-Collins, Bendix-King, and/or L3Harris product lines.
  • Knowledge of ARINC 429, RS-232/422/485, and discrete I/O protocols.
  • Basic soldering and rework skills (IPC-J-STD-001 a plus).
  • Computer literacy: Windows, Excel, and proprietary OEM software.

Pay

Schedule
