FA Electrical Mechanic C, 1st shift

Purpose of Position

To prepare, assemble, and install vehicle components to required specifications for Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments.

Responsibilities

• Use and conduct proper care of PPE.
• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders.
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measures and specialty equipment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
• Perform rework as required.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and participate in RCI events.
• Cross-train and move to other work areas to support production needs.
• Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories.
• Test installed components.
• Apply basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
• Maintain work area, shop tools, and equipment.
• Maintain daily time records.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions.
• Basic computer usage knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
• General knowledge of at least one of the following: Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing/Production processes.
• Ability to obtain a Forklift certificate if required.
• Keep a clean work area (5S).
• Assist co-workers and group leads as needed.
• Knowledge of Altec programs and/or systems.
• Shift work may be required.
