Electro Mechanical Technician-1st Shift

About the role

Support and maintain molding department production at the assigned molding machines and throughout the department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical work (up to 90V DC) on plastic forming machines and associated equipment, including basic setup, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems, grinders, blenders, EOAT, robot systems, and material feed system components.
• Diagnose machine, process, and auxiliary equipment problems.
• Use a multimeter to diagnose electrical problems.
• Participate in replacement and repair of molding machine components.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks, including inspection, lubrication, and adjustment of molding machines, robotic cells, and auxiliary equipment.

Requirements

• General knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical theory.
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading.
• Good mechanical abilities and experience operating molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Successful completion of ARC flash training.
• Injection mold experience.

Physical requirements and working conditions

This position is located in our manufacturing plant, which includes enclosed office and manufacturing space. The role requires:

• Ability to safely operate mobile equipment.
• Occasional transfer of mechanical components weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling.
• Routine twisting, climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms.
• Occasional mounting and dismounting of mobile equipment.
• Standing for the majority of an 8-hour shift.
• Repetitive grasping, gripping, pinching, and fine manipulation of objects with both hands, with or without mechanical devices.

This position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow facility and is a member of Local 224 RWDSU.
