About the role

The Department of Languages and Literature at Northeastern State University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of English with an emphasis on literature and humanities.

Responsibilities

• Teaching load of four undergraduate courses per semester (4/4), including general literature and world literature courses
• Teaching general education courses, including courses supporting the Humanities minor, and GE requirements
• Potential inclusion of graduate courses depending on the candidate’s qualifications
• Possible shared course load with American Studies, the Humanities minor, and other programs based on qualifications
• Strong preference for previous experience in American Studies, Humanities, or related fields

Requirements

• PhD in hand in English or Comparative Literature
• Experience in teaching and mentorship preferred
• Service experience and/or a strong publication record preferred
