About the role
The Cook performs a variety of tasks and duties under the direction of the Head Cook, including preparing, seasoning, and cooking while conforming to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Provide high-quality food items in a timely manner using standardized recipes and methods of preparation.
- Control food production, including proper cooking methods, times, and temperatures, and ensure sanitation practices are followed.
- Maintain a sanitized and organized work station, clean workstations, and organize storage areas.
- Understand food costs and perform job responsibilities to minimize waste and improve financial performance.
- Maintain kitchen safety and sanitation, care for kitchen equipment, and operate a range of kitchen equipment.
- Prepare food for special events and caterings, taste-check prepared food items, and demonstrate KLECH core values and MAD skills.
Requirements
- Six months of experience as a cook is preferred.
- Professional training through culinary education is preferred.
- Ability to follow established recipes and communicate effectively in English (written and oral) is preferred, with Spanish or other language skills a plus.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with staff and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and guest service skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
Physical Demands
The team member is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, and bend for extended periods, with specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
The work environment includes the back of the house, casino floor, and normal office setting, with frequent walking and standing in a smoke-filled environment, varying noise levels, and potential exposure to high levels of noise and stressful conditions.
Conditions of Employment
Must be able to obtain and retain a KTTT Gaming Commission License, provide authorization to work in the United States, be at least 18 years old, have access to reliable transportation, and comply with KLEC handbook, internal policy, and procedures, and gaming regulations.
