About the role
Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Avionics Technician (USN “AE / AT” rating) with F-18 experience to support a service life modification program in San Antonio, TX. The role involves Organizational and Depot Level support of the aircraft’s Electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Understanding pre/post flight activities and inspections
- Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with applicable directives
- Reading and interpreting wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
- Using tools such as torque wrenches, hand tools, and specialty tools like crimpers, multimeters, M1 meters, air data test sets, pin extractors
- Removing, replacing, and function checking aircraft components and assemblies
- Maintaining electrical and instrument systems, including power generation, conversion, and distribution
- Inspecting and maintaining aircraft batteries and electrical components
- Maintaining interior and exterior lighting on the aircraft
- Handling electrical control of aircraft systems, including hydraulics, landing gear, utilities, and power plant engines
- Supervising automatic flight control and stabilization systems
- Detailing aircraft compass systems, altitude reference systems, and inertial navigational systems
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of F-18 experience and familiarity with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs
- Active secret DOD clearance
- Comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills
- Able to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements
- Ability to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
- Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment
- Ability to pass vision screen and color blindness tests
- Strong preference to candidates who have supported U.S. Navy F-18 or F/A-18 squadrons on deployment
Pay
The primary level salary range for this position is $60,500.00 - $100,900.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
