Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics and aircraft electrical systems.
- Perform operational and functional testing to ensure defect-free aircraft delivery.
- Install and functionally test avionics/electrical components per engineering specs, drawings, and manuals.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and mentor team members on diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Repair or replace defective wiring and components using approved methods (splicing, soldering, pinning).
- Set up and operate test equipment to verify system performance and reliability.
- Ensure all work meets conformity standards and is fully documented in logs and required paperwork.
- Support engineering changes and modifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Pre-inspect work to reduce rework and improve efficiency.
- Enforce FOD, tool control, 5S, and all safety programs.
- Cover coordination across disciplines to meet production schedules and adapt to changing priorities.
- Support final phase testing and certification, including potential aircraft flight tests.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of experience in an avionics/electrical field (2 years of accredited aviation electronics schooling may offset experience).
- Strong experience troubleshooting avionics and aircraft electrical systems required.
- Business jet avionics troubleshooting experience preferred.
- A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Strong working knowledge of avionics systems and, preferably, other aircraft systems (hydraulics, flight controls, landing gear, environmental systems).
- APU and engine run qualifications preferred.
- Proven ability to mentor others and lead technical problem-solving efforts.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to work any shift.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics may offset two years of experience requirement.
Skills
- Experience troubleshooting avionics and aircraft electrical systems required.
- Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations and repairs.
- APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
