About the role

This role is located at Whiteman AFB, MO. This position requires a security clearance, so an active clearance is preferred, but a clearance request will be submitted for the selected candidate if necessary. The nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working in a classified environment; cell phones and personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft.
  • Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary.
  • Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
  • Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as: transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Must obtain and maintain electrical qualifications as well as other maintenance certifications directed by supervisor to include but not limited to; low observables, structures, hydraulic couplings, window replacement, engine/tailpipe removal/installation.
  • Maintains aircraft for maintenance, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.
  • Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.

Requirements

  • Level 3: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years electrical experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
  • Level 4: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years electrical experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.

Qualifications

  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Secret Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
  • Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass electrical training class for continued employment.

Skills

  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces.
  • Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.
  • Willingness to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $54,500.00 - $90,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $64,700.00 - $107,900.00

Schedule

This position is for 2nd shift. The selected candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on business needs, including, but not limited to: 1st shift 0630 – 1500, 2nd shift 1430 – 2300, 3rd shift 2230 – 0700 and overtime when required.
