Eye Care Educator

The Eye Care Educator provides critical support to educate and inspire Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) on the critical role they play in caring for cancer patients with Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma (RRMM), focusing on necessary eye exams and their importance. This role works in conjunction with Hematology/Oncology teams but is distinct, focusing on training and empowering Healthcare Professionals to effectively carry out eye care for patients and communicate results.
- Lead and empower ECPs by educating them on essential eye exams for patients, highlighting their importance, and offering clear, actionable guidance for communicating results to patients and Hem/Oncology teams.
- Deliver tailored educational materials that equip Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) with a thorough understanding of critical patient care procedures.
- Collaborate with Oncology Account Managers and the Medical team to ensure seamless communication of product-related information, including REMS details, in alignment with FDA guidance.
- Support care coordination as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree: A 4-year BA/BS degree is required.
- 3+ years in optometry, ophthalmology, or nursing, with a focus on oncology or specialized medical education.
- Alternatively, 1–3 years of direct clinical oncology experience, including oncology education, patient care, and interaction with physicians.
- Advanced communication skills: Ability to clearly explain complex oncology concepts to ECPs and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborative expertise: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in developing and delivering product-specific training and educational materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging effectively across all levels of management and departments.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Specialty pharmacy/payer experience is preferred.
- CRN, NPs, or PAs with eye care experience is highly preferred.
