Extrusion Technician 1 - 1st shift
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Extrusion Manager, the Extrusion Technician oversees the operation of extruders, sets dies, completes documentation, and maintains process parameters to produce quality products.

Maintain HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
Responsibilities
- Understand and follow all work instructions to set up, start, and put into production any and all extruded products
- Ensure that all process parameters are maintained within the specification limits
- Follow all instructions and directions set forth by the Extrusion Tech Lead
- Absorb and train Extrusion Operators on the shift
- Understand and perform all aspects of tooling setups, cleaning of tools, and storage of tools
- Follow all instructions to maintain inventory control and cycle counts
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Communicate all quality and/or process issues to the Extrusion Manager, Extrusion Technician Lead, and other necessary support departments
- Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO14001 certifications by supporting: Corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation
- Cross-train as a Punch Technician
- Perform Extrusion Operator functions as needed
- Perform grinding duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand tool and product blueprints/specifications
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for up to 12 hours when scheduled
- Prior forklift experience preferred
- Ability to perform detailed inspections and complete associated documentation
- Ability to follow detailed instructions in either written or oral form
Qualifications
Understanding of extrusion processing, generally accepted manufacturing principles, with ability to document non-conformances. Read and interpret shop orders. Understanding of inventory and the impact of cycle counting on company records.
