Extrusion Operator - Weekend

About the role

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the extrusion line for manufacturing cable products while conforming to quality requirements.
• Able to understand job orders and interact with Epicor.
• Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain and operate hand tools necessary to set-up, take apart, and operate the equipment.
• Perform quality control checks and inspections to ensure the product meets required specifications.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma
• 3 years of experience in extrusion machinery or mechanical ability & aptitude to understand manufacturing equipment.
• 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives in English.
• Additional Qualifications:
• Technical secondary education preferred.
• Basic computer skills and accurate data entry experience for receiving and issuing products.
• Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc., and keep accurate accounts of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.
• Physical Requirements:
• Frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching required.
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Must adhere to all PPE requirements to perform the job safely, including eye, hand, feet, and hearing protection.
