Extrusion Operator

We are targeting experienced Extrusion Operators for 2nd and 3rd shift. Please only apply if you have relevant extrusion experience and can work either:

• 2nd Shift - 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Monday - Friday)
• 3rd Shift - 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM (Tuesday - Saturday)

About the role

The Extrusion Operator will manufacture plastic tubing products that meet customer specifications, following standard work methods to ensure production repeatability and the highest quality standards. This role operates in a controlled manufacturing environment designed for sustained production. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion equipment according to approved parameters for single lumen tubes.
• Adjust tooling to produce extrusions that meet specifications.
• Modify processing parameters within approved ranges to maintain product specifications.
• Inspect products using approved methods and equipment.
• Collect and package products according to approved standards.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Complete applicable paperwork and enter data into computer systems.
• Perform proper line shutdown and purging as per work instructions.
• Remove tooling and prepare equipment for the next work order.
• Confer with supervisors or other parties to resolve problems.
• Assist in training other operators as required.
• Lift materials and equipment, typically up to 25 pounds, occasionally between 50-100 pounds.
• Adhere to all safety rules, practice safe behaviors, and report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong technical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges and follow improvement suggestions.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Quality-conscious with attention to detail and ability to follow through.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Plastic tubing extrusion manufacturing experience (strongly preferred but not required).
• Ability to work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
