About the Role

We are hiring an Extrusion Machine Operator in Franklin Park, IL. This position involves operating extrusion machines safely and efficiently while troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

Responsibilities

• Consistently and safely operate machines at or above standard levels of operation, including waste, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
• Troubleshoot, identify, and correct machine-related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
• Provide innovative solutions for production issues.
• Support and guide less experienced personnel.
• Complete end-of-shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities.
• Inspect and recognize defective product, making machine adjustments to correct causes of defects.
• Observe all housekeeping, standard work, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as an Extrusion Machine Operator.
• Experience and willingness to work 12-hour rotating schedules, including every other weekend.
• Ability to arrive for work prior to shift start time and be prepared to begin on time.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting experience with Extrusion Machines.
• Excellent communication skills and detailed record-keeping per prescribed frequency.
• Analytical and math skills.
• Ability to perform quality checks and understand production measurement tools.
• Knowledge of product quality standards.
• Comfortable wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard-nets, steel-toed shoes/boots, ear protection, and bump-caps when required.
• Manual dexterity.

Pay

Starting rate of $21.85 - $27.60 an hour.

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour rotating shifts, including every other weekend).
