Extruder Operator

Set up and shut down machines according to work order specifications.
Follow work instructions to produce the required quantity of films on various types of equipment.
Ensure rolls are produced within required quality specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a neat work area.
Adhere to all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
Deliver scrap to the Erema or warehouse for processing.
Cooperate and coordinate with Spiral Cutter Operators to optimize film quality.
Learn troubleshooting of machines and operate PLC controls.

Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and record roll data.
Basic math and reading skills to calculate and enter roll data, weigh rolls, and read work instructions and PLC monitors.
Ability to learn to operate industrial machines such as extruders, spiral cutters, stretchers, electrical hoists, and tower equipment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect rolls for defects.
Ability to recognize sounds of moving equipment and machinery for safety purposes.
Ability to work in constant noise requiring the use of earplugs.
Good job attendance and punctuality.
Prior industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

Controlled indoor environment with noise from refrigeration equipment and machinery.
Work performed on concrete floors involving extreme temperatures.
Requires safety shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
Occasional climbing of stairs and working at elevations of more than 20 feet.
High noise levels requiring ear plugs.
Physical ability to exert up to 60 pounds of push force and up to 80 pounds of pull force.
Willingness to work 8-hour rotating shifts (3 shifts).
Willingness to perform job functions following set safety procedures.
