Extruder Operator
The employees in this position are responsible for:
- Supporting a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line
- The operation will include set up, operation, breakdown and cleaning of all components
- The development of proper processing parameters during operation to optimize line speeds and yields
- Safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations
- Ensure proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned
- Follow all company policies, including environmental policy and notify supervisor of any concern that may affect work area or company property
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination, or printing production (highly desirable)
- Prior forklift certification and experience
- Ability to read and write English
- Good verbal communications skills
- Understanding of how to use a touchscreen (PLC) production line
- Ability to learn and understand technology associated with plastics processing
Physical Requirements
- Adequate vision
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Tolerate extreme temperatures
- Stoop, kneel, crawl, climb
- Stand and walk for the majority of an 12 and 8 hour shifts
- Ability to climb stairs
- Willingness to work overtime if required
Shifts Available
- Sun, Mon, and Tue from 6am - 6:30pm. (Three 12-hour shifts, 10% differential on top of base rate)
- Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed from 6am - 6:30pm. (Four 10-hour shifts)
