About the Role

The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking a candidate with an interest in auditing to be part of the Provider Compliance unit within Program Integrity (BPI). This unit focuses on fraud, waste, and abuse-related activities. The position is located in Franklin County and requires travel to provider sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine financial, compliance, and operational audits.
  • Operating accounting and auditing software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processors, databases).
  • Analyzing confidential records and information stored in the department’s various data systems.
  • Working collaboratively with other BPI reviewers and/or ODM professionals to analyze provider payment claims and coding to identify potential fraud, waste, and abuse.
  • Analyzing healthcare providers' records related to billing activities and the quality of care during on-site reviews.
  • Preparing audit reports and recommendations for corrective action plans.
  • Maintaining favorable relations with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in auditing or accounting, which must include 18 months of auditing experience in accordance with auditing standards or prescribed management policies/procedures.
  • OR completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field, plus 12 months of experience in auditing or accounting, which must include auditing experience.
  • OR equivalent of the minimum class qualifications noted above.

$28.76 per hour
