About the Role

Home Building Team Members build homes for families. Each department within the facility has specific tasks to perform to build a complete home. Every position follows standard production methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

The Home Exterior Department focuses on tasks such as:

• OSB Sheathing Installation
• Vinyl Siding Installation
• Window Installation
• Eave and Overhang Installation
• Roof Decking
• Shingle Installation

Production teams ensure that all homes meet sales orders, prints, specifications, and building codes while maintaining a high-quality standard in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible while observing all relevant OSHA regulations.
• Productivity: Work in a team environment to produce products that conform to our quality standards while achieving productivity objectives.
• Stewardship: Serve as a good steward of the company’s physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting needed maintenance, and keeping your assigned area clean and orderly.
• Planning: Assist your Team Leader and Area Coordinator in planning and organizing manufacturing activities by communicating anticipated material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and reporting any quality or productivity issues.
• Attendance: Meet all attendance requirements, be available for the start of shift at the required time, and follow the division’s attendance rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Versatility and willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and lift at least 50 lbs, as well as perform other physical duties as needed.
• Must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other team members.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings is greatly desired.
• Must be able to walk or stand for at least 8 hours.
• Bending, squatting, and stooping are required.
• Must be able to lift above shoulder level and reach to the floor using proper lifting techniques.
