Exterior Maintenance Technician

About the role

This position will be responsible for the performance of maintenance services within the community, under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. Primary focus will include exterior electrical lighting repair and maintenance, sump pump and motor preventative maintenance and inspection, exterior building maintenance, and minor carpentry and masonry work.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders for repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Occasionally work with and oversee contractors to complete necessary repairs and maintenance
  • Perform work orders involving various trades, including electrical, carpentry, roofing, siding, mechanical, plumbing, and cleaning
  • Interface with homeowners on exterior maintenance related issues and resolve problems
  • Create and maintain up-to-date records related to duties, responsibilities, tasks, and materials inventories
  • Ensure all Community Association Managed maintenance contractors understand and comply with exterior service agreements
  • Maintain regular inspections to identify repairs, preventative maintenance, and solution development
  • Work with supervisor to accomplish special duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Combination of 5+ years experience and education performing maintenance work within various trades
  • Higher education or Certification in a trade, such as electrical, roofing, carpentry, or masonry, is desirable
  • Previous Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience is desired
  • Management and Customer Service experience is desirable
  • Experience with email systems and spreadsheets, or ability to quickly learn
  • Must have experience performing specific repairs to buildings' exteriors and interiors
  • Must be capable of working extended hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be physically able to perform tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and ascending ladders
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive a car safely and efficiently
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, and have good reasoning skills

Pay

Compensation: $20-$24/hour, based on experience
