Nature of work

Operates tractor-trailer units in the receipt, delivery, and transportation of equipment, materials, and supplies to schools and operating departments.

Special Requirements

• Ability to work overtime and unusual hours as required.
• Non-restricted Class A license required to drive all vehicles.
• Manual transmission driving experience required.
• Experience driving up to 52ft trailers in small parking lots and city environments.
• Hours of operation: 6am to 2:30pm.
• Wage range: $23.61 - $33.25 per hour, based on years of service.

Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma required.
• Considerable experience in the operation of heavy automotive equipment, including tractor-trailer operation.

Skills

• Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to manipulate vehicle in narrow or crowded areas.
• Ability to inspect and make minor repairs or adjustments to heavy automotive equipment.
• Ability to keep simple records and prepare routine reports.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read and write.
• Skill in the operation of a tractor-trailer unit.
• Knowledge of and ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).

Pay

$23.61 - $33.25 per hour, based on years of service.
