About the role

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an Extended Expertise Consultant (EEC) to partner directly with our end customers for large-scale Prisma Access deployments. This role involves developing, maintaining, and leveraging expertise on SASE Platforms and relevant tools to optimize deployments and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and leverage expertise on SASE Platforms and the relevant tools to optimize deployments and operations.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping organizations protect their networks, applications, and data from emerging threats.
  • Push the buttons, flip the levers, turn the knobs, and interact directly with our customers to help them secure their digital environments.
  • Migrate customers from legacy remote access technologies to Palo Alto Networks platforms.
  • Build custom security policies and application signatures, configured for the client's needs.
  • Progress and uphold expertise in deploying advanced Palo Alto Networks features and functionality.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support, as needed, to support maintenance activities.
  • Analyze logs and events from the solution to perform initial troubleshooting and issue identification.
  • Work with our Technical Assistance Center to troubleshoot and diagnose support cases.
  • Maintain the Company's solution and provide mentorship on code upgrades and best practices.
  • Ensure client needs are met and deliverables produced on time according to specified project deliverables and scope.
  • Travel is required in the scope of your duties.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing or managing enterprise firewalls or security infrastructure.
  • A deep understanding of Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Panorama, and related technologies (App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, WildFire, and URL Filtering).
  • A strong grasp of TCP/IP, routing, switching, NAT, VPNs, and Layer 7 inspection.
  • Familiarity with threat prevention, SSL decryption, and Zero Trust concepts.
  • Experience integrating NGFW solutions into cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) or SD-WAN environments is a plus.
  • Experience with log and event analysis using Cortex Data Lake, Expedition, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with network, security solutions, remote access and remote connectivity technologies in large environments.
  • Experience with troubleshooting skills related to networking, routing, IP, NAT, IPSEC VPNs, and knowledge of how these interact with applications and users.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and operation of NGFW products.
  • Effectively handle multiple projects and work calmly under pressure.
  • An excellent writer, with strong verbal social skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate to senior leaders, technical peers, and non-technical partners.
  • Experience working with the customers' security & network teams to build confidence across the business units impacted by the change with the addition of Palo Alto Networks.
  • Experience using remote user access technologies, including IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Explicit Proxy, ZTN.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Routing Skills, including BGP and Static Routing.
  • Next-Generation Firewall capabilities, configuration, and deployment. Including Panorama, User-ID, App-ID, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, SSL Decryption.
  • Ability to work within small creative teams as well as cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • A solid foundation in networking and security technologies combined with excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with a competitor's technology can play to your advantage.
  • Experience with the Professional Services Academy to prepare for the role.

Skills

  • Experience with authentication methodologies, including 2FA, SAML, RADIUS, LDAP.
  • Experience with Next-Generation Firewall capabilities, configuration, and deployment.
  • Experience with Panorama, User-ID, App-ID, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, SSL Decryption.
  • Experience with remote user access technologies, including IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Explicit Proxy, ZTN.

Benefits

Compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer, the salary range offered by Magnit is $118K - $138K/year. Please note that the compensation information in this posting reflects the salary only and does not include benefits. Magnit offers Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K.
