Extended Expertise Consultant - Prisma Access
The role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will be managed by Magnit, our preferred payroll provider.
About the role
Palo Alto Networks is seeking an Extended Expertise Consultant (EEC) to work closely with our end customers on large-scale Prisma Access deployments. The EEC will develop, maintain, and leverage expertise on SASE Platforms and related tools to optimize deployments and operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain expertise on SASE Platforms and related tools
- Partner with customers to secure their digital environments
- Build custom security policies and application signatures tailored to customer needs
- Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support for maintenance activities
- Analyze logs and events to identify and resolve issues
- Collaborate with the Technical Assistance Center to troubleshoot and diagnose support cases
- Maintain and upgrade the company's solution, providing mentorship on best practices
- Ensure client needs are met and deliverables are produced on time
- Travel as part of the job duties, though efforts will be made to minimize heavy travel
Requirements
- On-site presence (full-time) at customer site in Dallas, TX
- Valid driver’s license
- 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing or managing enterprise firewalls or security infrastructure
- Strong understanding of Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Panorama, and related technologies
- Familiarity with threat prevention, SSL decryption, and Zero Trust concepts
- Experience integrating NGFW solutions into cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) or SD-WAN
- Experience with log and event analysis using Cortex Data Lake, Expedition, or equivalent tools
- Experience with network, security solutions, remote access, and remote connectivity technologies in large environments
- Experience with troubleshooting skills related to networking, routing, IP, NAT, IPSEC VPNs, and knowledge of how these interact with applications and users
- Experience with installation, configuration, and operation of NGFW products
- Effective communication skills, including writing and verbal abilities
- Experience with authentication methodologies, including 2FA, SAML, RADIUS, LDAP
- Strong routing skills, including BGP and static routing
- Next-generation firewall capabilities, configuration, and deployment experience
- Ability to work within small creative teams as well as cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in networking and security technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with customer-facing roles and building relationships with senior leaders and technical peers
- Experience with remote user access technologies, including IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Explicit Proxy, ZTN
Skills
- Experience with competitor technologies can be advantageous
- Experience with professional services academy preparation
Benefits
Compensation for this position will vary based on qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for candidates who receive an offer is $137K - $157K/year. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K. Magnit is unable to assist with visa sponsorship or relocation for this position.
