About the role

The Medical Assistant I (MA I) under the supervision of the Practice Manager is responsible for basic clinical duties to prepare patients for provider visits in an ambulatory clinic setting. They work collaboratively with the practice team to ensure efficient and effective operations while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to practice policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for provider visits by gathering necessary information and documents
• Assist providers during patient encounters, including taking vital signs and recording patient data
• Administer medications as directed by the provider
• Manage patient scheduling and appointment reminders
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment
• Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare team members
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and medical information

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous experience providing or assisting direct patient care
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential preferred
