Export Pricing Analyst
Location: Rutherford, New Jersey
Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000
About the role
Reports to the OTI Export Marketing Supervisor and/or Manager. Responsible for front-line execution of the NA Export marketing and yield management strategies through pricing activity, lifting monitoring against award, customer performance evaluation, and service contract maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Strategize and negotiate rates in coordination with Supervisor and/or Manager and Strategic Yield Management, including exemptions and deviations targeted at meeting business plan goals.
- Report to Supervisor and/or Manager any deviations from the standard conditions; coordinate with relevant teams to ensure rate offers reflect the cost factors involved.
- Support Supervisor and/or Manager in providing marketing reports related to customers when setting up target accounts and departmental goals.
- Attend face-to-face negotiation meetings with customers as directed by Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Provide operational support and facilitation; assist in setting up award/nomination for internal purposes to align with account allocation files and monitor actual lifting against the given award/nomination or account allocation per port-pair or service lane.
- Monitor, measure, and take corrective action on pricing results to improve the assigned region’s account performance, communicating corrective actions to the NA Sales staff when necessary.
- Monitor and act to eliminate negative margin cargo.
- Manage and maintain tools including cost tables and transit time tables, and develop those tools for better efficiency.
- Available for possible domestic and international travel as required.
Requirements
- Proven ability in fundamental and mathematical analysis.
- Ability to envision, strategize, and capitalize with financial and commercial acumen.
- Ability to react quickly to market changes and make timely decisions to improve business results.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Applies logical methods utilizing analytical skills and experience for best-suited approaches; able to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of internal management, staff, and outside vendors.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Advanced knowledge of pivot tables and formulas in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong business acumen.
- 2+ years of industry experience and/or 1+ year of function-related experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
