About the role
The Lead Maintenance Technician is a multi-craft maintenance position at the Lilly Medicine Foundry. The Foundry is a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development, combining research and manufacturing in a single location. This role oversees the maintenance and repair of manufacturing and facilities equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily activities with a safety-first mindset, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
- Complete all work in a timely manner and in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures.
- Complete all documentation associated with daily maintenance activities, including work order completion and post maintenance documentation.
- Pass off vital information to all appropriate parties related to critical equipment issues through oral and written communication methods.
- Work independently and collaboratively, including leading a team of mechanics and technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Possess strong aptitude to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to ensure continuous operation of production lines.
- Lead in the execution of maintenance procedures to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.
- Champion for support of planning and scheduling, including feedback to planners for continuous improvement.
- Willingness to volunteer and support committees/teams outside of primary role (safety, continuous improvement…etc.).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Associate’s degree or technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient use of CMMS (Maximo) and other Work Order systems.
- Proficient use of electronic devices, smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
