About the role
NATO HQ Supreme Allied Command Transformation (NATO SACT) is seeking contract support for the Vendor-Augmented Next-Gen Guidance and Responsive Development (VANGARD) program. VANGARD provides timely access to leading-edge information and quality support to tackle challenges impacting NATO’s strategic, operational, and transformational concepts. SimIS seeks an Expert Level Emerging Technology Integration Specialist to analyze E&DT integration across multiple operational domains and NATO capability portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level analysis of Emerging and Disruptive Technology (E&DT) integration across multiple operational domains and NATO capability portfolios.
- Support the exploration, understanding, and assessment of EDT focus areas (such as Artificial Intelligence, robotic and autonomous systems, quantum technologies, novel materials and advanced manufacturing, hypersonic technologies, energy and propulsion technologies, biotechnology and human enhancement, next generation networks).
- Develop operating concepts for employing specified military capabilities in the achievement of a stated objective or aim.
- Deliver products supporting the planning, design, execution and analysis of technical trials, leading to the delivery of formal reports with an emphasis on evidence-based findings.
- Conduct Strategic Level Analytical Studies researching and analyzing NATO’s internal and external environments to inform long-term strategy and decision-making.
- Develop Decision-Making Aids that contribute to part or all of quantitative or qualitative decision-making tools.
Requirements
- Master's degree in relevant technical discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience in technology development, systems engineering, or operational analysis.
- Minimum of 5 technical publications or conference presentations on emerging defense technologies.
- Professional certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AI/ML, systems engineering, cybersecurity).
- Deep technical expertise in at least 2 of the 8 E&DT focus areas with working knowledge of 3+ additional areas.
- Systems engineering expertise to include requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and verification/validation methodologies.
- Experience with NATO architecture frameworks (NAF) and technical standards (STANAGs).
- Understanding of experimentation methodologies including Design of Experiments (DOE), test and evaluation, and Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E).
