Expert Craftsman Machinist Technician
About the role
Performs all phases of part machining including cost estimating, review of technical data, processes definition, identification of tooling and machine tool requirements, and shop layout planning. Provides support to Project Manager or Engineering personnel in areas such as scheduling, data gathering, and preparation of technical reports.
Responsibilities
- Cost estimating for all phases of machining process
- Review of part/component/system technical data for completeness and accuracy
- Processes definition and development of documentation
- Identification of tooling, jig, and fixture requirements and support/input/review of engineering designs
- CNC file development, test, and implementation
- Set-up, rough and finish machining
- Identification of machine tool requirements and shop layout planning
- Provide support to Project Manager or Engineering personnel in areas such as scheduling, data gathering, and preparation of technical reports
- Participate in test or project events as assigned
- Report project status and results
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred
- 20+ years of professional experience in the required task area
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Physical Requirements
Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery. Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls. Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements. Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery. Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear. Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time.

Pay
The projected salary range for this position is $71,600-$98,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
