Experienced Woodworking Assistant Needed

Full-time hourly position in Tarrytown, NY with C-los Studio, a small design-and-build carpentry business specializing in custom residential cabinetry and bookcases.

About the role

Join our millwork and woodworking team to assist with building, sanding, finishing, and on-site installations. Work primarily in our Tarrytown shop, with occasional on-site installations under the lead carpenter. Projects include built-ins for dining rooms, libraries, bedrooms, and home offices using a variety of materials and finishes (plywood, solid wood, stain, paint, oil, etc.). All tools provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead carpenter with fabrication and installation of custom cabinetry and built-ins
• Perform sanding, finishing, and edge-banding tasks
• Create door and drawer faces
• Install door and drawer hardware
• Handle heavy lifting as required
• Follow directions accurately

Requirements

• Reliable and able to work closely with a lead carpenter
• Some experience working on job sites or in woodworking
• Knowledge of basic construction techniques
• Ability to follow directions well

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Pay

Hourly compensation based on experience.
