Experienced Veterinary Surgeon

About the role

We are an independent practice established for over 100 years, seeking an experienced mixed or small animal veterinary surgeon to join our team. We offer a supportive, encouraging work environment with top-quality, modern medicine and surgery in North East England, close to excellent transport links, city centres, countryside, and the coast.

Hours: Full or part time. Location varies.

Responsibilities

• 80% small animal, 10% equine, 10% farm mix or small animal only
• One night on call per week (with support by another vet)
• 1 full weekend on call in every 6 (for every full weekend worked, no night on call the following week and a Friday or Monday off to make a long weekend)
• 1 Saturday morning in 3 (one of these will be part of the full weekend on call every 6)
• Bank holiday cover equally shared

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (mixed or small animal only)
• Must have a driving licence
• Part-time hours negotiable, but ideally at least 2 full days per week plus weekend rota cover
