Doral Centre Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, organized, and client-focused Veterinary Receptionist (Client Service Representative) to join our growing team. As the first point of contact for our clients and patients, you'll play an essential role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting our doctors, technicians, and hospital operations. Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
- Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and manage daily calendars
- Check patients in and out while ensuring accurate documentation
- Maintain electronic medical records with attention to detail
- Process invoices, payments, and client financial transactions
- Explain hospital services, appointment expectations, and discharge instructions
- Assist with prescription requests and medication pick-up coordination under veterinarian direction
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Provide calm, empathetic support during urgent or emotionally sensitive situations
- Help maintain an organized, welcoming front desk and lobby environment
Requirements
We're seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in veterinary client service (not an entry-level position)
- Passionate about helping pets and the people who love them
- Friendly, professional, and confident communicating with clients
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy veterinary hospital
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Able to remain calm under pressure while prioritizing multiple responsibilities

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Minimum of one year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service, or medical front desk experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal healthcare setting
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology
- Experience with veterinary software such as Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, or similar platforms
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds independently and heavier pets with assistance
- Safely handle dogs, cats, and other companion animals of varying sizes and temperaments
- Work in a veterinary healthcare environment with routine exposure to animal dander, fur, saliva, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, medications, and occasional loud noises
- Perform repetitive computer and telephone tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail
Schedule
- Part-time position offering approximately two shifts per week
- Rotating 10- or 12-hour shifts
- Schedule and availability: 7:00 AM – 1:00 AM, Monday through Sunday
- Flexibility to support evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays is required (employees are not scheduled every holiday but are expected to participate in holiday coverage)
Pay
$18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
