Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Airport Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. Exotic animal handling experience is required (especially snakes, avian, and other exotic species). In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. Responsibilities Include Rotating between exam room, outpatient, and surgical caseload supportPerforming anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recoveryAssisting in surgery, including patient prep, setup, and recoveryPerforming radiology, phlebotomy, SQ injections, and laboratory sample collectionProviding safe, gentle patient handling and restraint for companion and exotic speciesMonitoring inpatient care and supporting hospitalized patients as neededMaintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentationReviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionatelyBuilding strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule And Compensation Compensation: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour, for each hour workedThis is a full-time position, offering either a 5 x 8 or 4 x 10 schedule, Monday–Friday, with rotating Saturday coverage 8:00–11:00 AM every third Saturday.On-call responsibilities rotate every 6th week if / when a hospitalized patient requires weekend monitoring.
