Experienced Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-time Veterinary Assistant with surgical experience to join their team in Wilmington, North Carolina. The position offers flexible hours, including Saturdays, and the opportunity to work near the beach.

Responsibilities

• Care for and educate clients and patients
• Perform venipuncture and catheterization
• Assist with radiology and diagnostics
• Collect and process lab samples
• Prepare and administer anesthesia
• Handle and restrain patients safely
• Keep accurate medical records

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a veterinary assistant or equivalent experience as a veterinary technology student
• A positive attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality care
• An owner's approach to all aspects of care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

$15 - $18 per hour based on experience

Schedule

Full time, Saturday rotation required
