Responsibilities
- Exemplify CPL’s Core Values.
- Be punctual and ready to work.
- Professionally greet and communicate with customers.
- Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type, size, and location of underground utilities.
- Use communication equipment to effectively liaise with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel.
- Operate electromagnetic locators to accurately locate, mark and document underground utilities.
- Locate and inspect sanitary sewer lines using push cameras and a sonde.
- Maintain a professional appearance while safely operating company vehicles.
- Be available for work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours if required.
- Adhere to all safety rules and avoid engaging in unsafe acts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid State driver's license with an acceptable MVR record.
- Pass a pre-employment background check & drug test.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment (e.g., shovels, screwdrivers, wrenches, and similar).
- Experience locating underground utilities and operating GPR equipment is required.
- Knowledge of OSHA, state, and city/municipality safety requirements is preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Pay
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour for a 40-hour week.
Schedule
The schedule includes weekdays during training, potentially shifting to include a weekend day post-training.
