Experienced Truck Mechanic Diesel Technician

About the role

Our Clarke Vehicare team is seeking Truck Mechanics - Diesel Technicians to maintain our commitment to safety and customer service. In this role, Technicians perform truck repair and maintenance according to factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles, and collaborate with team members to meet company goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform all types of brake, steering & suspension, electrical, A/C, and engine repairs
• Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW
• Work with Cummins & Heavy Duty Equipment (required)
• Assist other technicians as needed
• Perform potential mobile work
• Work independently
• Transmission experience is a plus

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Frequently move, stand, walk, and sit during duties
• Use hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Read and write reports
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions

Requirements

• One-year certificate from college or technical school (preferred)
• Cummins & Heavy Duty Equipment experience (required)
• Minimum of 5 years related repair experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Preferred: CDL
• Preferred: ASE certifications
• Must be able to obtain DOT Med Card
