Job Summary
Tom James Custom Clothing sales office in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor to deliver the finest tailored clothing with excellent attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- To make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
- Includes, but not limited to: Shorten/lengthen sleeves, Taper sides of garments, Lower collars, Take in/out trousers waist, Take in/out seat and rise on pants, Shorten/lengthen trousers, Taper trouser thighs and foot widths, Ensure proper sizing of clients.
- Manages all interactions with professionalism, Tracks detailed alteration production daily, Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, Presses finished garment, Removes threads, and completes for client-ready.
- Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date.
- Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
- Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time.
